I’ve been working out of the 2010 Artblok building complex since 2017. Located at 2010 E Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis, the building used to be a General Mills research laboratory before being converted to artist studios in the 2000s.
I use mostly hand tools for my furniture making, with a few power tools to take care of the really laborious tasks. Hand tools are a good fit for chairmaking, where parts tend to be shaped by the grain of the wood they’re made from and are less well suited to machine automation.
